Fernstrom's sketchbook

Went to a creature design workshop in San Francisco recently (link). Learned some really cool stuff about sketching technique and how to sculpt with clay.. in addition to tips about creature design:) So I have a new obsession now.. clay!! Or at least it's something that could become an obsession cause its so much fun!

I'm working on a sculpture that I started at the workshop so won't post something from that until it looks like.. something worth showing. 

Also started an exercise that I got from Carlos Huante (tutor in the class). Doing abstract/fleshy shapes, stretch and collapse skin as a way to get a greater variety in your forms. Really fun and relaxing to.
